The Garden Show with Mark Cullen - host biography
Mark Cullen
Think green, think Cullen. Mark Cullen is Toronto's authority on gardening. And every Saturday on The Mark Cullen Garden Show, he helps NEWSTALK 1010 CFRB listeners turn their yard into a garden paradise from 11 am to noon. Gardening goes deep into Mark's roots. He's third generation of a "retail gardening" family. On television, Mark appears in HG TV's half-hour show, Mark Cullen - Gardening! He also appears weekly on CTV's Canada AM with his gardening tip of the week. An established author, Mark has published several books, including Canada's all time best selling gardening book, The Greener Thumb. Other books include: The Real Dirt (with Lorraine Johnson), Canadian Garden Design, The All Season Gardener and The Ontario Gardener. Mark also writes a weekly newspaper column for the National Post. His writing earned him the 1990 Quill and Trowel ‘Gold' Award from the Garden Writers of America. And in 1987, Mark received the Garden Communicator of the Year Award from Landscape Ontario. For Mark, helping people means reaching beyond the garden fence. He is an active supporter of the Sick Children's Hospital and the International Rainbow Socks Project in Bosnia/Croatia. Mark has also been named Honourary Patron of SHARE Agricultural Foundation, and patron of Canada Blooms. He is the national spokesperson for the "not for profit" Composting Council of Canada and the Toronto Regional Conservation Authority.
