The John Donabie Show - host biography

John Donabie is the most listened to weekend morning man in Canada. John gets the biggest names in the entertainment industry as guests on a regular basis. Names like Robert Duvall, Val Kilmer and Hugh Grant.
 
Donabie's radio career began in the late 60's in Oshawa Ontario. He entered the Toronto market where he worked at CKFH Radio with the legendary Foster Hewitt. In 1971, Donabie joined "Underground" CHUM FM as afternoon-drive host. In 1977 He helped launch Toronto's newest radio station......Q-107. Donabie has worked the three major markets in Canada - Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver.Donabie has also worked in television, hosting his own afternoon show on CBC called "Afternoon Delight" which became the highest rated summer network show for that summer season.

As one of Canada's foremost musicologists, Donabie has appeared on Canada AM and CBC's Morningside to discuss various forms of popular music. He has also interviewed the biggest names in Rock and Roll History. People like... John Lennon, Brian Wilson of the Beach Boys, Bob Dylan and The Band, Sarah McLachlan, Randy Bachman. He has also interviewed the legends of Jazz & Blues.
 
John is married to his beautiful wife Ala and have two children. When not in Toronto he and Ala can be found wandering around their favourite haunts of New Orleans and the Juke Joints of Mississippi. John has won various awards; including "Adult Contemporary Air Talent of The Year." Also Platinum Record Awards line his wall, for his work during his music years on radio.
