The Tayler Parnaby Report - host biography
Tayler Parnaby
In 2005 CFRB's Chief Correspondent Tayler Parnaby was honoured for his work as a journalist by his peers at the Radio Television News Directors Association. The veteran reporter, commentator and newscaster with 50 years in broadcasting, was named the recipient of the 2005 President's Award by the RTNDA.
The award is presented annually to individuals, stations or companies who have a record of distinguished service to the broadcast news industry.
"Tayler has earned the overwhelming respect and admiration of colleagues through his half century of service," said RTNDA President Terry Scott. "He remains an active, driven journalist with a passion for chasing and uncovering stories."
Parnaby has traveled the world to cover major news events and his assignments have included the 9-11 terror attacks in New York, the death of Diana, Princess of Wales, the O.J. Simpson trial and the 2005 Tsunami tragedy in southeast Asia.
Parnaby joins an elite group of broadcast journalists to receive the award, including Rex Murphy, Pamela Wallin, Lloyd Robertson, Dick Smyth, Craig Oliver, Knowlton Nash and Allan Waters.
Parnaby studied engineering, political science, and economics at Queens and Carleton Universities. He started his broadcasting career in 1955 at CFOR in Orillia as a jack of all trades. He has served as News Director of radio stations in Kingston and Toronto, as Ottawa Bureau Chief and President of Newsradio Limited, and as President of CKO Incorporated.
