The Motts - host biography

Carol Mott

Paul and Carol Mott are a husband and wife team whose conversational choreography could win Olympic medals. Their talk show is like a roller coaster - emotional, funny, joyful, sad, and possibly angry all in the same show. Carol began her radio career in 1975 at CJMR in Mississauga doing community news and interviews. In 1977, she took a job at CJRN in Niagara Falls where she did the weather and creative writing. At CJRN, Carol won two Retail Advertising Conference Awards and one National Retail Merchants Association Award. She had her first talk show experiences at CJRN filling in for the regular talk show host and hosting an afternoon variety program. In 1982, the program director at CHSC in St. Catharines decided to put Paul and Carol on air together hosting a talk show. They started about two months before they got married. Paul's news background and Carol's talk/entertainment experience were a winning combination. After a year at CHSC, CJRN asked the duo to come back. They spent 10 years at CJRN before moving to CKTB in St. Catharines. In 1993, Paul and Carol joined CFRB hosting The Motts.
