A US war deserter who's been in Canada for the last few years got a bit of a reprieve in his bid for refugee status here Friday.
Joshua Key says he fled the US army because he didn't want to participate in or witness atrocities against Iraqi civilians anymore.
The refugee board initially denied his application, but the Federal Court has ordered the Board to look into Key's case again, saying they made a mistake in their decision.

The court also found that the board should hear evidence on whether deserters like Key can rely on the American government to treat them fairly.
