Public Washroom Mandate?

 
City Councillor Howard Moscoe says retailers should provide customers with access to public washrooms. He has requested a report on how the city should require store-owners to provide washrooms.

Those in favour say it’s a principal of customer convenience.

“Sounds like a great idea, wherever there’s people, there’s got to be washrooms,” said one woman.

Those in opposition of the idea say that it might be a strain on struggling small businesses.

“Seems kind of crazy to require private businesses to provide a public service,” said Andrew.

Others feel it might enhance business, with shoppers more likely to purchase an item while in using the washroom.
