The OPP have identified three Toronto men who died when the car they were travelling in crashed into a river near Bracebridge.

OPP Constable Skeeter Kruger with the Bracebridge detachment says that shortly before 7 p.m. Thursday, they were called to the scene on Peninsula Road near Minnett where they found a vehicle had veered off the Joseph River causeway, through the guard rail and into the river.

The three have been identified as Tyler Mulcahy, Cory Mintz, who were both 20, and 19-year-old Kourosh Totonchian.

A fourth person in the car, 19-year old Nastasia Elzinga, also of Toronto, was treated for minor injuries at South Muskoka Memorial Hospital in Bracebridge and released.

Police are investigating whether speed and alcohol may have been factors in the crash.

Meanwhile, Port Credit OPP are trying to figure out why a 16-year old girl was out at three in the morning walking up from a ditch onto the 401 near the James Snow Parkway in Milton. There are no lights in the area so the driver of a transport truck didn't see the girl until it was too late. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Her name has not yet been released.
