Man in hospital after North York shooting

Police say a man in his early 20s was shot near Jane St. and Finch Ave.

Sgt. Steve Tedford says they received a call to Driftwood Ct. around 1 a.m. from Peel Police. It is believed that the victim called a relative who lives in Peel Region who then called Peel Police.

Police found the victim behind a residence in the area.

Emergency officials say he has two gunshot wounds and was taken to hospital in serious condition.

Police are canvassing the area for witnesses and have no suspect descriptions at this time.
