(John Elston, CFRB News) It would be the tallest residential building in Canada. A condo development is being proposed that would tower over the Yonge and Bloor area of downtown Toronto to a height of 80 storeys.
A developer from Kazakhstan wants to build it on the southeast corner. It would dwarf the Hudson Bay Building on the northeast corner.
Four years ago another proposal for the same site for a 60-storey edifice was approved by the city, but the developer did not proceed.
The 80-storey skyscraper designed by Toronto architect Roy Varacalli, would include a shopping mall at the base.
