RV Park in Downtown Toronto?
Amber Gero(CFRB News)- City Councillor Case Ootes says the City of Toronto is missing out on a "major opportunity" because there is no recreational vehicle park near the city's downtown core.
"When you take into account that there are close to nine million RV units in North America you have to believe that if they can't find a place to park they're going somewhere else," said Ootes.
Larry Boyd, Executive Director of the Ontario RV Dealers Association, agrees with the councillor and says the city is missing out on millions of dollars.
"Toronto is losing a lot of tourism dollars from people that RV in this province, from out of the country, because there's no place to really park or get to downtown easily," said Boyd.
Councillor Ootes will ask city staff to consider the park, and possible locations, at the Economic Development Committee Wednesday.
