Is Toronto the best role model for a multicultural city?
Perhaps London's biggest challenger is Toronto. The Canadian city has been recognised by the United Nations as the most "multicultural city in the world" on numerous occasions. But try that line in New York and you'll be laughed at. Queens is the most multicultural borough in the US, and possibly the world. And who's to say Sydney doesn't have a chance to claim the title? People of 180 different nationalities live in the Australian city, speaking over 140 different languages.

Toronto's new hybrid diesel-electric buses are saving less than half the amount of fuel the TTC said they would. As recently as March, the Transit Commission, along with federal, provincial and municipal governments, claimed the new buses were using 20 to 30 percent less fuel. That's not the case according to the TTC's current fuel-savings estimate however. Testing on the buses, conducted last summer, show that the number is closer to 10 percent.
