The Green Bin program, which began in Etobicoke in September of 2002, had only been available to single family homes,  But the city is now giving green bin to apartments and condos, which should divert about 30 thousand tonnes of organic waste from landfills.

The city will be delivering small green bins to about 300 buildings a month over the next 18 months.
