Katie Franzios reports on the emergency drill in Scarborough.

A loud siren blasted for around two-minutes this morning in Scarborough as part of a drill to let residents know what to do in the case of an emergency situation at the Rohm and Haas latex chemical plant, such as a chemical leak.  It could be heard by thousands of residents within a one kilometreof the Lawrence and Morningside area.

These drills have taken place three times a year, for ten years.

CFRB's Katie Franzios has this report.

If people hear the siren, they should go inside, shut all windows and doors, close anything that would bring in outside air such as a fan or air-conditioning and then wait for a continuous monotone sound signalling everything is okay.
