City council is prepared to tackle some tough issues after summer break.

In the first meeting since the Sunrise Propane explosion, two councillors want to get reports on how the city handled the August 10th explosion. Councillors Mike Del Grande and Rob Ford are also asking for a public inquiry on the matter.

As for those affected by the blasts, council will vote on the city setting up a disaster relief fund.

CFRB's Katie Franzios has more.

Also on the agenda, Toronto is trying to jumpon the latest trend of cities trying to ban the sale of water bottles in city facilities. Councillor Del Grande is putting forward a motion because he says they create too much waste and there's no point selling them in community centres and other city-run facilities when a water fountain can be used.

Meantime, a year and a half after the mayor launched his "One Cent Now" campaign to collect one cent of the GST per dollar, it's losing momentum. But Councillor Michael Walker says now is the time to get backing by city council. He says because of the federal election campaign, the idea could be a debating point.

Walker is proposing to start a campaign to collect one cent of the PST as well. He says either type of funding would help.
