Katie Franzios reports on Canadians and salaries.

It would take an average of $296,000 a year to make Canadians feel rich, $150,000 less than Americans. This, according to the 5th annual 'payday poll' conducted by Automatic Data Processing (ADP) Canada.

CFRB's Katie Franzios has more.

Canadians seem to take the high road when it comes to reporting a discrepancy on their pay-cheques - even if it's in their favour. Nine in ten of those polled say they would tell their employer if they were overpaid by 50 per cent.  Even if they received 25 or 10 per cent more pay, over 80 per cent would fess up. This honesty is also there when asked about salary - three quarters say they would tell the truth to a friend or colleague. In fact, the survey shows Canadians would rather talk about money, than about their love lives.
