Watch for Children is the message for motorists as a new school year begins.   Police are emphasizing that in a safety campaign.

But it's not just those behind the wheel who are responsible for the safety of students going to and from school. Those on foot share the responsibility.

Toronto constable Mig Roberts told CFRB News that students have to be mindful. Stop, look and listen before crossing a street.  

Motorists are reminded that there will be more students not only in school zones but around shopping areas during lunch hours.
