Health officials are confirming a second death from Listeriosis, a dangerous bacterial infection. An elderly woman in Waterloo has died. This, as Canada handles an outbreak of the illness.
The first fatality linked to the infection was an elderly woman in Hamilton.
Food safety officials are trying to find a connection between the now 17 confirmed cases across Canada and the recall of 23 Maple Leaf products packaged at its Toronto plant.

The illness is known to cause nausea, fever, headaches and neck stiffness with those most susceptible the elderly, pregnant women and those with weakened immune systems.
