In the wake of yesterday's attack of a TTC bus driver in the city's west end, questions are arising about driver safety. A woman began screaming at the female bus driver for not pulling over at her stop in the Jane and Finch area, then took a hammer and repeatedly hit the driver.
The TTC has been considering protective barriers for quite some time, but this attack is prompting officials to take a closer look.
CFRB's Katie Franzios has more.
The barriers that have been tested are similar to that of those in taxis: a clear, plexiglass sheild that snaps into place and locks on the driver's side.
