The Prime Minister paid a visit to the GTA Monday evening, speaking to a crowd of about 400 in a Mississauga park. And while Stephan Harper did not directly address the rumors of an upcoming federal election, he did allude to it.

Listen to Lori Paris' Report.

With blue and white balloons and campaign signs everywhere, it certainly looked like a campaign stop. But Prime Minister Stephen Harper only joked about heading to the polls.

"Well, the next election has not been scheduled until October 2009. And who knows. Mr Dion may want to wait longer then that."

Harper rallied hundreds of party members from across the GTA, and spent half an hour after the event taking photos with supporters .

From here, Harper will visit Hamilton and Kitchener.
