More residents are being let back into their homes on Murray Road, one week after the Sunrise Propane blast sent them running from their houses with only the clothes on their back.
CFRB's Katie Franzios was at the clean-up site today.
Meantime, there's talk of financial assistance for local residents whose homes were damaged in the propane explosion. Premier Dalton McGuinty says if the city asks for help, he's open to the idea.
The Red Cross is also helping out in the clean-up, handing out clean-up kits to residents. They include basic cleaning supplies in them......such as a mop, bucket and sponges. Toronto City Councillor Maria Augimeri's office is helping in the distribution, less than a week after being criticized for telling a local resident to "shut up" when he questioned how the city was handling things.
Acting Deputy Mayor Shelley Carroll says the cleanup is about a third of the way complete.
