Tamara Baluja's report on Out of the Shadows pin campaign
Listen to Tamara Baluja's report.

Epilepsy Toronto launched the Out the Shadows pin campaign to get people impacted by epilepsy to step out of the shadows and talk about the disorder. About 40 000 people in Toronto live with epilepsy. Geoff Bobb, Executive Director of Epilepsy Toronto says the new Out of Shadows pin campaign will hopefully foster community support for those with epilepsy.

The campaign launch was a prelude to the Scotiabank Buskerfest which also supports Epilepsy Toronto. Street performers from around the world will put on a 4 day festival in late August in St. Lawrence Market. Geoff Bobb, Executive director of Epilepsy Toronto says the street festival is free, but you can buy a pin for $2 dollars, available at any Scotiabank branch or Rainbow Cinemas.

Sporting an Out of the Shadows pin, Mayor Miller says he wholeheartedly supports this campaign. "There is no better way to get people to talk about epilepsy than to actually get people out for a street festival", Miller said.
