The Maple Leafs made an announcement sure to thrill all fans. No, its not about Mats Sundin but all fans who came to the Air Canada Centre got a pair of pre-season free tickets on September 22nd against the Buffalo Sabres.

This is a once-in a kind opportunity for the 800 fans here... to not only a pair of free tickets, but also a chance to get autographs from some of their favourite Leafs players, such as Curtis Joseph and Matt Stajan. Its summertime, middle of July but you wouldn't know that from the way these Leafs fans reacted to getting a pair of free Leafs tickets. "Free tickets are awesome. It's great that they are thinking about the fans", Derek said.

While they were obviously excited to meet current players, many say they were hoping to get some update on Mats Sundin, but nothing so far.

Leafs General Manager Cliff Fletchers says this game is for the loyal Leafs fans. "The Maple Leafs fans are the most dedicated fans in the NHL", Fletcher said.

Fans who didn't get tickets yet need not worry. There will be more promotional give-aways throughout the summer.
