Cheryl Camack Reports: Two Men Arrested in Drug Raids
This past weekend police arrested two men, a 39-year old and 40-year old, and seized $110 000 worth of prescription and street drugs.
Police say the two weekend drug raids downtown are a spin-off to "Operation Deed"-- the two month street-level drug enforcement project that saw to 150 drug related arrests in May and June.
Neither of the two men arrested were known to police, but after a month of surveillance they were raided at two separate downtown locations.
Detective John Margetson says the drugs found at one condo were "equivalent to a drug store".
Among the drugs seized was a half kilo of crystal meth, with a street value of $75 000.
As investigations continue Police are targeting potential distributors linked to these men in the club/entertainment district.
