Lori Paris reports on a new poll from Ipsos-Reid
Voter support for Liberals and the Conservatives is separated by a single point, with the Tories at 33 percent, and the Grits at 32.

That according to the latest Ipsos-Reid poll for CFRB and CanWest Global, which also took a look at how Canadians feel about the new Green Shift Plan put forth by the Liberals.

Listen to Lori Paris's Report

Darrell Bricker of Ipsos-Reid says the  latest poll shows that 52 percent of Canadians support the new Liberal Green Shift plan.

"It's not really the mill stone around the neck of the Liberal party that the Tories seem to claim that it was.  People haven't made up their mind. They see some good things, they see some bad things, and really, ultimately , what the Green Shift is about remains to be decided."

Bricker adds the numbers show there is a bit of backlash- four in ten Canadians would support the Tories just to block the Green Shift plan, and 65 percent say they believe the new plan would mean a major increase in personal taxes.

The NDP meantime are down two points to 13 percent, and the Green Party is at 10 percent. Six percent of Canadians are still unsure who they would support if an election were held tomorrow.
