One man is dead, while another is injured after a shooting in the Victoria Park and Ellesmere area of Scarborough.

It happened around 7 Wednesday night.

Ambulance officials tell CFRB News that one of the victims was shot in the head -- several times -- and police say he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The second victim was believed to be shot in the arm and the neck area.

He underwent surgery in hospital.

Both victims are male but no names have been released -- and reports suggest the victims could be as young as 16. 

The shooting happened outside some townhomes on Victoria Park.

Four to 7 suspects are being sought. Its not whether they escaped by foot or in vehicle. Police hope witnesses will be able to give them a make or plate number.

Other witnesses say they heard 8-9 shots fired.
