Justine Lewkowicz's report on the canvassing of 25 Cougar Ct. after the death of Mahamed Abdi Warsame

More than two dozen of them joined Toronto police Thursday night at 25 Cougar Ct., where Mahamed Abdi Warsame (pictured above) was found beaten on May 4.

Teams of two officers and three family members went from door to door up the 20 floors of the building, asking residents if they saw or heard anything that day.

His mother, Ayan Dahir, was brought to tears as the family was organized into groups prior to entering the residence.

"I just need help, whatever I can get from the community, from anybody who saw anything. I'm a mother, single mom raising three kids. I'm so disappointed."

Warsame was found in a stairwell at 25 Cougar Ct., the cause of death was determined to be multiple blunt-impact trauma.
