Dump Truck Protest To Slow Traffic
More than 100 dump truck drivers are expected to take to the highways starting at 10am this morning to protest low pay and unsafe loads travelling across the GTA.
The drivers say that construction companies are compromising safety, by increasing their loads and forcing drivers to meet tight deadlines.
According to the Ontario Dump Truck Association the protest route will be:
Leaving from Dixie and Derry Road
West on Derry to 410
South on 410 to 401
East on 401 to DVP.
South on DVP to Gardiner Expressway
Gardiner West to 427.
North on 427 to 401
West on 401 to 410.
Returning to Dixie and Derry.
