Ryan Bird Reports on Warning for Condo Buyers

City councillors on the North York Community Council have endorsed a plan to warn condo-shoppers in the Yonge and Sheppard area about heavy traffic.  

The warning, if passed by city council, would be similar to ones issued by the school board, which warns potential buyers that if they move into the area, there's a chance their children won't be able to go to the closest school because it's full.

Toronto's new hybrid diesel-electric buses are saving less than half the amount of fuel the TTC said they would. As recently as March, the Transit Commission, along with federal, provincial and municipal governments, claimed the new buses were using 20 to 30 percent less fuel. That's not the case according to the TTC's current fuel-savings estimate however. Testing on the buses, conducted last summer, show that the number is closer to 10 percent.
