On March 5th 2003, we didn't know what we were dealing with. A 78-year-old woman who had returned to Toronto after a trip from Guangdong died. First believed to be a heart attack, later diagnosed as SARS. The severe acute respiratory syndrome spread, infecting 375 in the Ontario, killing 44.
